Gameweek 12 Predicitons

After a slow start, waiting for the close of the transfer window to bolster his squad, Dave Blair's team have been on fire! He's had a few near misses but he finally gets the chance to predict the outcome of Gameweek 12....

Welsh Galacticos vs Belfast Benfica
Tied at the top, you'd expect a typically cagey affair. Benfica have started well but this is a marathon not a sprint and our Commish has a team well equipped to nudge ahead. Galacticos
Mystic Murph: I'll be praying for a BELFICA win! Fuck you Mahrez and Varrrdddeeeeeyy.

Van Gaal's Gaals vs Predatory Wasps
VGG's desperation in the transfer market was almost as humiliating as their blatant influencing of the admin in GW10. On the pitch it's a wonder they've picked up as many wins as they have with 'dat midfield', an obvious weakness to even the most casual observers. Barring another Pantomime (it's behind you) performance by Pantilimon in goal, Wasps will take the Gaal's to the cleaners. Wasps
Mystic Murph: I have to disagree with Dave again... there's only one Philly Lisk

AV Beasts 2s vs Lisk's Midfield Magicians
The expected return of Bentekkers will give Mike Hardy's men more beast than AVB 2's can handle. Magicians
Mystic Murph: bortaS bIr jablu'DI', reH QaQqu' nay'...... Beasts

Réal IRA vs The Lovely Lamelas
Lamelas have Réal in their sights in this potential six pointer. Neither side are blessed points machine in attack with the possible exceotion of Troy ' Watford's MVP' Deeney leading the line for Real. REAL IRA
Mystic Murph: With Spurs playing Arsenal this week, you have to fancy the RA.

Crouchy's Nachos vs FC Casimir
Firstly, my congratulations to the good Dr. himself, massively well done!
But back to matters at hand, Dr Casimir edged a low scoring nail biter in GW1 by a single point, but since then the Nachos (now without Crouchy) have been transformed, winning four of their last six, and don't intend on settling for mid table mediocrity. NACHOS
MM: McAuleys week is about to turn sour...... Nachos

Kamikaze Pigeons vs Culchie Blues
Another one point thriller back in GW1, Pigeons have strengthened with Otamendi in defence and there's every chance Sanchez is a potential king of the North London derby. Wayne's World looks a little brighter after a midweek goal but it's probably asking too much if Les Bleus are relying on Rooney for the win. PIGEONS
MM: Blues on the slide... Pigeons

A review of Gameweek 11

This week we had the privilege of having Boydo predicting the scores for the Nanofreakz Championship. Unfortunately for Boydo, half the draft was out on the lash for Breandan's stag in Edinburgh. But in some ways its more fun to see how his predictions transpired.....

Gameweek XI Predictions

Welsh Galacticos vs The Lovely Lamelas

Both Welsh Galacticos and the Lovely Lamelas won last weeks fixtures, adding drama to what would otherwise be a top-vs-bottom clash. The Welsh Galacticos will be buoyed by their manager's recent marathon success, leading by example. I can't see the Lovely Lamelas, with the worst points difference in the league, getting anything from this clash.

Prediction: Welsh Galacticos

Culchie Blues vs Lisk's Midfield Magicians (they can make points disappear)

A mid-table clash, both teams with wounded pride after defeats in the last round of fixtures. Lisk's Midfield Magicians team look like they're finding form, with Culchie Blues effectively fielding 10 men given the prominence of Rooney in the starting lineup.

Prediction: Lisk's Midfield Magicians (they can make points disappear)

AVBeasts 2nds vs Belfast Benfica

Despite the league positions telling a different story, the edge must be with AVBeasts 2nds for this fixture. Hazard failing to find form for flailing Chelsea, compared to the goal hungry Sterling seems to be the key battle in the middle for this fixture.

Predition: AVBeasts 2nds

Réal IRA vs Van Gaal's Gals

Only a mad man would take a punt on Van Gaal's Gals this week. Rumors of a proposed transfer mid-week cast a spotlight on the desperation of Mr. Lisk. The return of Silva for Réal IRA, compared to the negative tactics of Lisk's back 5 last week and general foul-play (resulting in a touchline ban), make this the easiest call of the week.

Prediction: Réal IRA

Crouchy's Nachos vs Predatory Wasps

Still smarting from last week's dubious appeal, the Nachos will be keen to take all 3 points. This fixture looks to be a goal-fest, with the combined front 5 of both teams in fine form. Nachos seems to edge the midfield battle thanks to de Bruyne, and are the bookies favourites this week.

Prediction: Crouchy's Nachos.

Kamikaze Pigeons vs FC Casimir

The Kamikaze Pigeons will be looking for a strong Arsenal performance to get anything from this fixture, with a shift from the captain Sanchez a particular focal point. FC Casimir's dependence on Watford's defence, who will face the travelling might of the Hammers, will see them pay close attention to this fixture. Perhaps the tightest fixture this weekend to call, the Pigeons should edge the points by a hair's breadth.

Prediction: Kamikaze Pigeons.

66.67% Well done Boydo B-

Gameweek Predictions

This week we have the honour of hosting our very own Commish to make some predicitons!

Welsh Galacticos vs Real IRA
Expect the Sheep Shaggers to get over the loss to their bogey team and obliterate the IRA out of existence.
Galacticos
Murphy: Galactico's never fail (apart from against the Beasts)

Van Gaal’s Gals vs Crouchys Nachos
Nachos look pretty unstoppable right now. But if anyone is going to stop them, it’s definitely not going to be Phili’s sorry excuse for a team. Dat midfield tho.
Nachos
Murphy: I'm plumping for my favourite team in the draft VGG

FC Casimir vs Kilkeel Canaries
Can’t see City getting a clean sheet with United coming to town, and therefore can’t see Hardy’s team getting a win. The glory days of the early GWs are long gone now. And he’s going to get beaten by someone who isn’t even the country (that’d be embarrassing, right Tony?).
Casimir
Murphy: Both teams on the sldie.... Score draw!

The Lovely Lamelas vs AVBeasts 2nds
Can’t see the Beasts racking up huge points again since you know, he’s not playing against me. Expect my man Wilfried Bony to slaughter the United defence.
Lamelas
Murphy: The one week wonders to do it 2weeks in a row.... BEASTS

Predatory Wasps vs Kamikaze Pigeons
Looks like the kind of match-up that would put you to sleep if these teams were real. Captain Sanchez is too strong right now, it pains me to predict this but:
Pigeons
Murphy: Rock, paper, pigeons, wasps.... Wasps

Belfast Benfica vs Culchie Blues
Pedro has now lost 2 games by 1 point. Unfortunate. With Swans playing like shite as well he’s not gonna get clean sheet points from Fernandez or Fabianski.
The Blues will nick this one.
Murphy: Mon wee Forbesy saaaaaaan!

McAuley's Late Predictions

Sorry Matt I didn't have time to publish your predictions before the Gameweek but lets see how u did.......

Culchie Blues vs Lovely Lamelas

Two L’s in Lamela, but only One Win in Taylor.

Blues.

FC Casimir vs Belfast Benfica

Benfica are sitting cosy at second place in the Draft, but with the lowest Points Conceded, can this continue? Casimir are hot off a 70 point Gameweek 8, but with top scorers Wilson and Aguero injured and the manager on holiday, it’s more likely to be FC Catastrophe.

Benfica.

AVBeasts 2nds vs Welsh Galacticos

The much anticipated El Classico. Ireland vs Wales. Marriage vs Player. Cycle vs Frisbee.
The Galacticos manager trades out his 2nd Draft Pick this week, Terry, to bring in Palace's Souaré.
But Dynasties are there to be toppled.

Beasts.

The Matthew Nicholson Appreciation Society vs Predatory Wasps

Mid table bout. Hardy plays a defensive team at 5-4-1, with Hart in nets, but is the managers heart in it?
The Wasps luk(-aku) strong with the draft’s top scoring striker up front and after a few early drafting mistakes, have a top half table sting in their sights.

Wasps.

Real IRA vs Crouchys Nachos

The Nachos crouch down in 11th position after some unlucky losses. But the DUP are playing In-Out football and see the Real IRA threat. Expect the Nachos to stand up tall.

Nachos.

Kamikaze Pigeons vs Van Gaal’s gals

Gaals play a 1-Up-1-Down game, seen in recent performance: LWLW. It doesn’t take Sherlock to spot the trend. Dat midfield tho.

Pigeons.

50% Matt could do better!!!

Gameweek 8 Predictions

Game Week 8

Mystic Murph was in scintillating form last weekend predicting 5 out of 6 game correctly.... Only to be let down by @ueslessPhilly. I didn'y actually think he was going to win to be fair... His teams worse than mine. Onwards and we are joined this week by Matt Mullan (as The Draft like to call him) after his outrageous exploits of last weekend.

Matt: The Welsh Galactico’s have been on form since their early back to back losses. Their captain's typical accumulation of points should see another 3pts added to their league tally.

Mystic Murph: Forbesy's Boys are the form team in the league right now and I have to retract my previous statement about them being shite and stuff... He's not at the bottom anymore... He's a winner! And he will win again this weekend!

Van Gaal's gals  v  Mike Fucking Hardy
Matt: Coin-flip. VGGs.

Mystic Murph: Ok then Matt.... I'll talk the boys through this enticing encounter.... Fuck it VGG.

Matt: Could be close. I sense a narrow victory for Réal. AVBeasts should have kept Mahrez.

Mystic Murph: There is no better time to play the Beasts than right now... Costa suspended and Son injured, I'm staring down the barrell of a 3rd successive defeat! AVB out!

Matt: FC Casimir.

Mystic Murph: I hate to say it but Casimir should be too strong against a resurgent Lamela's.

Matt: The Wasps recorded the highest score in the Nanofreaks League this past gameweek, mostly thanks to Romelu “2nd pick and you f**ked it up” Lukaku, but Belfast Benfica’s strength has been in the consistent victories which the aforementioned flying insects have not managed... Heart says Wasps, but head says Benfica.

Mystic Murph: Think this could be the match of the weekend... Worthy of Super Sunday status! Benfica have to start losing at some stage right?! MAybe not this weekend... BB

Matt: What appears to be a Dave v Goliath on paper, isn’t so in practice. The Nachos' high point-scoring (which hasn’t always translated into victories unfortunately) has put them as the favourites in this.

Mystic Murph: I'm a big fan of what Dave's doing with his Nachos. No double dipping in this game! 2 wins in 2 weeks for me!

Gameweek 7 Predictions

Gameweek 7 Predictions:

Pedro's done all the hard work for me this week. I can just kick back and rub my crystal balls for more horrible predictions.

                                               Culchie Blues  v  AVBeasts 2nds
Pedro: A distinctly average mid-table clash. AVBeasts have been very poor this season but Gestede and recent arrival Heung-Min are on fire. I am curious to see what new signing M’Vila can do. Culchies’ in-form Payet will probably be countered by a very poor Rooney and Mr. Liability Lescott.

Pedro's Prediction: AVBeasts
Mystic Murphy: My strike force are on fire?? Quick put them out! Missing Captain Costa means the Beasts lack the bite to beat the blues.... Culchie's

                                               FC Casimir      v   Welsh Galacticos
Important match for Casimir (5th, 9pts) whose reliance on disastrous Lovren and underperformers Aguero and Kane is proving costly. Hoolahan is in form though. Galacticos (3rd, 12pts) are better equipped with the likes of Mahrez, Vardy and Kompany although all three face tough fixtures.

PP: Close Galacticos win
MM: Fuck the Galacticos

                                            Kilkeel Canaries v  Crouchys Nachos
The Nachos (12th, 0pts) and are still recovering from a gruelling contest with Belfast Benfica. Despite having a mare of a season up until now, their new front two Pelle-Martial looked mighty against Benfica. Canaries(4th, 12pts) are a much stronger proposition and this is their match to lose.

Cheeky PP: Nachos
MM: Hardy's team are in free fall. Nachos all the way.

Predatory Wasps  v  The Lovely Lamelas

This is a traditional six-pointer. With the likes of Lloris, Ivanovic and Fonte, and Chamberlain and Bony, the suffering Lamelas (1 win in 6) actually look good on paper. Alas, football is not played on paper. The Wasps (2 wins in 6) are not looking much better, which is unsurprising for a team field the likes of Giroud and Carrick.

PP: A coin tosser. I’ll go alphabetically, with the Lamelas.
MM: Wasps.

                                            Réal IRA            v    Kamikaze Pigeons

The Pigeons have kamikazed their way into the top of the league relying mostly on parking the bus. Their opponents Réal have actually scored more points. I predict a low scoring match, suitable for insomniacs.

PP: Réal will edge it.
MM: Breandan's side are turd! But somehow he wins every week. Pigeon's cawwwww.

Belfast Benfica  v  Van Gaal's gals

Pedro: After loosing in GW1, Benfica managed a good string of results and are now top of the league with best attack and best defence.  The Gals - a strong, well managed side including the likes of Pedro, Toure, Depay and Fabregas - are certainly equipped to end their opponents run.

PP: Van Gaal’s Gals.
MM: I always bet against Philly..... but fuck it....  VGG

Gameweek 6 Predictions

Gameweek 6 Predictions:

It's funny how things can change in a week in The Draft... Last week he looked like Jordan Belfort. This week he looks like Del Boy Trotter. Nicholson has weakened the Galactico's by trading out his 1st and 3rd round picks to McAuley. A surprise victory against the Champions last week will give the Wasp's enough confidence to see out another victory here.

Murphy Prediction: Wasps
Forbesy: "Fuck the Draft..... Galactico's"

Philly is on a downward spiral! He scored 20 points last week and his all conquering midfield choked again! He clearly see's something in this team that the rest of us don't. Either that or he's clueless. It's funny how Taylor's first victory of the season coincided with Tottenham's first victory.... Well i think Spurs will beat Crystal Palace this weekend... that makes my prediction easy!

Murphy Prediction: Lamela's
Forbesy: "Lamela's after their first win are going to be on a resurgent path to the top..... Lamela's"

All conquering Blue's were the first Nanofreakz Championship side to make it to top point score in all 12 team leagues. All that will hat trick hero Naismith on the bench. It's hard to look past him again despite taking on the threat of the IRA.

Murphy Prediction: Blues
Forbesy: "The rugby world cup starts this week baiiiiiii..... Blues"
In the words of Kevin Keegan... "i'd love it if i beat McAuley!" He's getting too big for his little hipster boots. Not even 4 months ago he couldn't buy a win, was bottom of the table and just didn't give a fuck. Oh, if we could only go back to then. I think i would have beaten him convincingly had Nicholsen not give him Kane. It will be close but I can see myself losing again :(

Murphy Prediction: Casimir
Forbesy: "Fuck the draft .... Casimir"

Last week should have been the ideal chance for Crouchy's boys to kick on. But he came up against the enigma that is Mike Taylor on a good day. Can't see him having any luck out of a strong Benfica side that are looking like playoff material.

Murphy Prediction: Belfica
Forbesy: "FtD...... Belfica"

 Kamikaze Pigeons v Kilkeel Canraies
These two managers do more talking than they do drafting. I think i speak for all the rest of the draft when I say that we hope they both lose. But i'll take the pigeons and their 8 man midfield to sneak a win.

Murphy Prediction: Pigeons
Forbesy: "I'll take Hardy if he finally shuts his yapper up"
